Job Description



Maryland Division/HTI, a division of the H&K Group Inc., is seeking a Paving Foreman to direct the activities of workers concerned with paving of roads and highways. The ideal candidate is dependable, dedicated, and a strong leader.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Performs all work according to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and job-related documents
  • Records daily events in job diary
  • Schedules materials, equipment, and work for the crew
  • Analyzes crew SIPs to create site SIPs
  • Obtains quantities from crews and prepares for billing process with PM
  • Analyzes cost reports for production adjustments
  • Accurately codes and controls onsite costs
  • Conducts site meetings
  • Attends job turnover meetings
  • Communicates goals and purposes effectively
  • Leads by example
  • Influences and enforces company values, recognizes misalignments, and ensures compliance
  • Understands and anticipates customer’s needs
  • Understands business practices within the organization and the importance of repeat business
  • Communicates with customer representatives and represents the company professionally
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications



Required Skills, Education, and Experience

  • PennDot road construction experience
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communications skills
  • Ability to work with probability, statistical inference, and the fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
  • Basic computer skills including internet, email, and documentation using digital cameras
  • Demonstrated leadership
  • Demonstrated dependability and punctuality
  • Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
  • Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)

 

  Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Two years of relevant PennDot road construction experience
  • Supervisory or crew foreman experience
  • OSHA or other relevant safety certifications
