General Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to direct the day-to-day operations of the facility in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company standards, to ensure the highest degree of quality care is provided to residents at all times.

Essential Duties

  • Oversee the overall operations and daily functioning of the facility
  • Lead efforts related to quality care, resident satisfaction, and operational performance
  • Monitor census, payer mix, and building performance on a regular basis
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility’s programs and activities
  • Ensure compliance with company expectations and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce facility policies, procedures, and professional standards
  • Prepare, monitor, and manage budget projections, revenue, expenses, and overall financial performance
  • Hold department leaders accountable for results, execution, and follow-through
  • Serve as a leader and role model for the organization’s culture, values, and expectations
  • Build strong relationships with residents, families, staff, referral sources, hospitals, and community partners
  • Stay current on regulatory updates, reimbursement changes, and industry trends
  • Ensure staffing levels are appropriate and aligned with operational and clinical needs
  • Partner with clinical, therapy, HR, finance, and regional support teams to meet and exceed facility goals
  • Support survey readiness and regulatory compliance efforts at all times
  • Assist during surveys by coordinating team response, reviewing findings, and helping develop plans of correction as needed
  • Oversee vendor relationships and support contract negotiations when necessary
  • Monitor accounts receivable, collections, and key financial indicators
  • Lead initiatives to improve employee engagement, retention, and overall building culture
  • Review quality measures and key operational metrics regularly and implement action plans when needed
  • Oversee facility safety efforts, including infection control, emergency preparedness, and life safety compliance
  • Support capital improvement planning and execution
  • Maintain a strong reputation for the facility within the community and industry

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred
  • For Colorado, Bachelors in Healthcare/Healthcare Admin or MBA is highly preffered
  • Prior experience in skilled nursing facility operations preferred
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, reimbursement, staffing, budgeting, and leadership within the post-acute setting preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Must hold and maintain a current Nursing Home Administrator license in the state of assignment, or be eligible to obtain licensure
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and other basic operational systems
