Job Summary: Responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the Safety and Security Department to provide maximum safety and security for students, staff, center property and the surrounding community. Serves as the center’s designated safety and occupational health officer. Ensures proper screening of staff, students, and visitors entering and exiting the site. Responsible for the Center Occupational Health and Safety program.

Requirements:Qualifications:
Minimum: High school graduate or equivalent. Two years work-related experience. May require a Guard Card or ability to obtain a Guard Card per State requirements.
Preferred: Associates degree or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or closely related field. Safety Certifications, law enforcement experience. Extensive experience.
Knowledge: Knowledge of investigative techniques. Knowledge of riot and crowd control techniques. Knowledge of law enforcement procedures. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid State driver’s license. Must obtain and maintain valid CPR/FA certificates. Ability to effectively relate to trainee population. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to obtain state Security officer certification within 90 days of hire.
