A growing financial services firm in Lombard, IL is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive 401(k) Administrator to join their team. This hybrid position offers a competitive salary of $70,000–$100,000. In this role, you will work closely with retirement plan clients, playing a key part in the ongoing administration, servicing, and accuracy of their plans. Key Responsibilities of the 401(k) Administrator:
• Manage day-to-day administration of 401(k) and retirement plans
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, delivering high-touch service and responsiveness
• Coordinate plan onboarding, contributions, distributions, and compliance processes
• Proactively identify next steps and confidently drive tasks forward
• Maintain accurate records and ensure all plan details are executed with precision
• Partner with advisors to support client relationships and overall plan strategy
• Assist in client meetings, reviews, and presentations as needed
• Monitor deadlines and consistently follow up to ensure all items are completed
• Support growth initiatives by contributing to client retention and expansion efforts
Qualifications of the 401(k) Administrator:
• Experience working with 401(k) plans
• Background supporting an advisor who sells retirement plans is preferred
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage complex information accurately
• Highly assertive and proactive—someone who naturally takes initiative
• Excellent follow-up and organizational skills
• Confident communicator with the ability to interact professionally with clients
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Interest in growing into a client-facing and sales-oriented role over time
